A Message from the Board

We, the Fiesta Hispano Americana Board of Directors, welcome you to our website. This site was created with the goals of affording visitors insight into our organization's History and Wharton County's Hispanic community. As you visit our site, please keep our slogan, "Viva La Cultura Hispana" in mind.

Established in 1982, The Fiesta Hispano Americana traces its roots to Wharton County's early Hispanic leaders. "About Us" webpage, chronicles this story and gives an overview of our local Hispanic community. The "Historical Event" webpage provides additional historical information.

Other pages inform the visitor about our traditional events and the Fiesta Hispano Americana latest endeavors. Our best known events are the Fiesta Ball and the Fiesta Street Festival in downtown Wharton in Monterey Square. The Fiesta Street Festival is a celebration of Hispanic Heritage & Cultures. A "Miss Fiesta Hispano Americana" is crowned. The Fiesta Street Festival is held annually on the weekend after Labor Day in September to coincide with Mexico's Independence Day, most commonly know as "Fiestas Patrias".

Fundrasing events throughout the year go to rasing monies for our academic scholarships presented yearly in May to qualified high school gradutes of Hispanic descent whom will further their education in college. By presenting scholarships at the Fiesta Hispano Americana Queen pageant and high school awards banquets in the area, we combine the observation of Historically important dates with the promise of our future. This theme of remembering our past and forging the path of our future is one of the guiding forces of the board of directors endeavors.
